Today was challenging, and we fell slightly short of our mileage goal, but we ended the day at a small brewery in the countryside, so not all was lost! We faced 12 mph headwinds with gusts up to 17 mph, a steady uphill climb all day, and dry air in the mid-80s by the afternoon when we decided to stop. We passed through endless wheat and canola fields, which were both beautiful and barren. We covered 50 miles with about 2,200 feet of ascent. In our first 6 days, we've completed about 18,000 feet of climbing and have 100,000 feet left! We've also reached the milestone of being 10% done in terms of mileage, with a total of 400 miles so far! Day 7 should hopefully take us just across the state border into Idaho, marking our third state!
