We took a day to relax and parked the bikes for a full 24 hours! This was our second rest day of the trip, and it felt great to be stationary. We did some bike maintenance, planned the Puppy Ride in Vermont, and received a surprise visit from Kristen, Victor's significant other. There were no miles, ascents, wind, rain, or heat to discuss!
To cap off our peaceful day, we attended a Seeing Event at the Utepils Brewing Company in Minneapolis this evening. Lauren from The Seeing Eye was nearby visiting donors today and organized a small, intimate gathering to celebrate our halfway journey across the country. It was a really nice visit. We met two graduates and their dogs and enjoyed discussing our trip and their experiences and lives in Minneapolis. The event was a great boost for the Puppy Ride team. It's always uplifting to be reminded that our hard work is rooted in the practical success of the partnerships formed between the guide dog and their human!
Off to ride along the Mississippi in the morning. We will head south and ride for two days before heading east across Wisconsin.
