Today was a big day for the Puppy Ride team. We had our biggest climbing session of the trip. It was pretty brutal, but what beautiful scenery we saw riding across the Bighorn Mountain range which we crossed in its entirety from west to east. The Bighorns are a national park like Yellowstone.

Today's stage was just 64 miles—not our longest by any stretch—but with 6,700 feet of climbing, we put in a lot of effort and truly earned each mile! The majority of our day was focused on a single climb from the start of our ride in the town of Ten Sleep to the 29-mile mark at Powder River Pass. For the first time, all three of us, accomplished one vertical mile of climbing in one go! Once we reached Powder River, we primarily descended into the town of Buffalo, Wyoming. We had some insult to injury after we high fived each other at the top of the mountain. A storm kicked up on our decent and the mountain gods decided we needed to climb a few more thousand feet and that we should have to ride through some tough construction sections with gravel.
