90 mile day! Biggest distance-day so far. Temperatures are rising (90 degrees at the end) as we get into the Midwest proper. The Missouri River is a cool milestone. We are close to the half way point! In fact tomorrow, we’ll hit 2,000 mile mark on our planned cross country route and as of today we are over 70% of the total climbing in the books!
Tonight we’re in Chamberlain, SD for the Fourth. There is apparently a boat parade and fireworks around 10 pm. We’ll see if any of us can stay awake!!!!
On a side note, I’ve mentioned this before, the kindness and selflessness of our support crew makes us proud and grateful. Rick Chapman has been with us for about a week and will help us through next Friday. He has been extraordinary in keeping us fed and hydrated and in make our ride possible in so many ways. Like Jenny and Kevin, we are three lucky cyclists! We owe them so much for making this trip happen!
